Missions Statement
Trinity Church Youth Group exists to develop the relationship students have with Christ, the body of believers, and those who do not know God.
Goals
- Develop unity within our group through team-building events and a monthly “Small Group Night”. Small Groups will take on the planning and focus of their own small group nights to build relationships between members of the small groups.
- Develop outreach opportunities with “St. Vincent DePaul’s Homeless Shelter” in Waterbury, CT. The teens will begin by doing some maintenance work on the facility, and begin to serve in areas such as food preparation, working with the children at the shelter and donating supplies.
Jr. & Sr. High Youth Group meets together weekly on Sundays from 6-8pm. We share a time of games, food, worship, large group instruction, and small group discussion time. The students break into small groups according to grade and gender for a time discussion and prayer to end the night. The curriculum is gospel-centered, and is taught with the intention of building Christ-like disciples within the group of teens.
The Student Leadership Team is a group of 12th Grade students who meet monthly to generate ideas and help plan events. The students in the leadership team also decided on the goals for the 2011-2012 youth group year.
The Youth Ministries Leadership Team consists of seven adults who are involved in teaching Sunday School, Youth Group, leading games, music, and small groups. We also have parents and leaders involved in bringing snacks, driving students for events, and other support roles. We have one coordinator to organize the leadership team and parent volunteers.
Special events include a “lock-in” in September, monthly “Small Group Nights”, service days at a local homeless shelter, bowling nights, a Christmas party, a retreat to Camp Monadnock in March, a camping trip in May, and a mission trip to Hartford, CT in June.
