Junior High Youth Ministries

Director: Mary Lane lane857@aol.com

The Junior High Youth Group is an exciting and dynamic ministry for students in 7th through 9th grade. Weekly meetings are held from 6p.m.- 8 p.m. on Sunday nights at the church. The junior high students meet in the parsonage for activities, worship, Bible study and prayer. Usually, for the second half of the meeting, we return to the gym for games and snacks.

Junior High Youth Group is a place for junior high kids to have fun, meet new friends and learn more about Jesus in a safe environment. It is our hope that each student would enter into a relationship with God and would grow into Christ-like disciple makers.

“Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 2:3

Senior High Youth Ministries

“The Refuge”

Director: Mark and Sharon Madore

The Senior High Youth group exists to provide a safe environment for teens in grades ten through twelve to grow closer to God and each other. Our desire is for youth to develop an eternal perspective, come to a deeper relationship with their Savior, and learn to defend their faith as they live it.  In an effort to assist students as they develop into mature followers of Christ, Senior High Youth Ministries hosts many programs and events.

Sunday School:  During the 9:30AM Sunday service, students meet in the youth room in the Family Life Center for in-depth study of God’s Word and prayer.

Sunday Nights:  The Youth Group meets each Sunday from 6PM to 8PM for a variety of activities intended to challenge students spiritually and develop deeper relationships with one another.

Social Events:  Often students gather just to hang out and enjoy one another’s company. Past social events have included pool parties, concerts and sporting events, progressive dinners, movie/game nights, and more!

Retreats:  Once or twice a year students have an opportunity to get away from the busyness of everyday life and spend a weekend focusing and reflecting on God.

Community Service: Students have opportunities to give back to their community in a variety of ways throughout the year.  Soup kitchens, working with inner city youth (Hattie Anderson’s), Habitat for Humanity, and assisting shut-ins are a few offered activities.

Missions:  In an effort to assist students in developing a heart for the nations, the youth group of Trinity takes a week-long missions trip to another country every other year.  Recent trips have included Jamaica and Peru.

Nationals: Every other year, the Refuge participates in a week-long summer conference hosted by the National EFCA for high school students.

“Let no one despise your youth but set the believers an example in speech and in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”   (1Timothy 4:12)
