MISSIONS
Introduction

Trinity has always had a strong commitment to missions. In our effort to obey Christ’s command to go into the world and make disciples of all nations, we have undertaken financial support for twenty-four missionary families. We also support six retired missionary families. Half serve in Africa, Asia, and Europe. Others, in the U.S., are involved in college campus ministries, urban ministries, church planting, supportive and administrative work, radio, camp, and education. Additionally, the ABC Scholarship Fund provides grants to missionary children of college age.

In recent years we have focused our attention on the 10-40 window, the un-reached people groups in predominantly Muslim countries. As a more effective way to teach and evangelize, we also support national pastors in India and Thailand.

Each week a missionary letter, published in our church bulletin, acquaints the congregation with the ongoing work and prayer needs of our missionaries. Pictures of our missionaries are on display in a special case in our church narthex. Periodically missionary families visit Trinity, giving live reports, and stirring interest and desire for future contact in the exchange of e-mail and prayer concerns.

Members of Trinity have been encouraged to undertake short-term mission trips. As a result, 25 people from Trinity have gone in the name of Christ to India, Ethiopia, Congo, Thailand, Jamaica, Poland, Guatemala and Mongolia. Adults and youth, men and women, have come back spiritually enriched and more enthusiastic about sharing Christ’s love and salvation. Others have found opportunities to be involved in inner-city outreach through various social services.

Our goal is to make missions alive and vital to our church family, trusting that many more will become involved in local and short-term opportunities.
