Support Ministries

Deacon Ministry

The Deacons visit and send cards to friends and members of Trinity when they are sick and coordinate meals during times of need.  They also send out cards to recognize special occasions and remember those who are shut in at Christmastime by delivering a plant or fruit tray and visiting with them.

The Deacons also set up communion on a monthly basis, oversee receptions for Memorial Services, manage the Christmas concert receptions and assist with Baptism and Easter services.  Please contact trinityoffice@trinityefc.com if you would like to help with this ministry.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Left to right: Laurie, Lynn, Judy

The Prayer Shawl Ministry started with two people and an idea in 2008.  Thanks to the creative ideas of its members, today it also offers blankets, chemo caps and scarves.  We reach out to church members and friends to spread the word and hand out shawls, but we also support our community directly.  We donate regularly to Hopeline, Yale Smilow Cancer Center, Griffin Hospital, Hospice, and a local doctors office. We have members that crochet and knit at home, and members who come to meetings to help laminate scripture and attach tags to shawls.  We have a variety of needs from administrative tasks to support in prayer.  There’s always a need for new ideas, yarn donations, and volunteers.  We meet at a member’s house in Seymour the third Saturday of the month.  We enjoy fellowship, breakfast, and prayer and then we work on tagging and sorting our inventory.  We welcome all who are interested in this wonderful ministry.  For more information, please contact trinityoffice@trinityefc.com

Library

Our library contains almost 4,000 volumes. These books cover a wide range of subject matter – from Bible information and commentaries, encouragement for Christian living, family and youth guidance, biographies, missions, teaching aids and fiction for all ages.

In addition to books, we have a collection of over 100 videos for children and adults, and a collection of music CDs. Books are loaned for four weeks, DVDs for one week and magazines and CDs for two weeks.

There are no specific library hours. When the librarian is not available, borrowers may serve themselves to books, DVD, CDs and magazines.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Due to changes being made structurally to the space, and limited storage we are not taking donations at this time. We will inform you when we will start excepting donations again.

We encourage members and friends to browse and borrow, and to use our many resources. If you have any questions or would like to donate books to the library, please contact trinityoffice@trinityefc.com.

Office Ministry

Our Office Ministry supports all the ministries at Trinity by preparing materials. Throughout the year there are special projects for our Christmas Concerts, Children’s Musical, Easter services, etc. There are also regularly occurring projects such as church bulletin production and mailings.

Interested in volunteering? Tasks include using the copying and folding equipment, punching holes and preparing choir notebooks, computer entry, phone calls, bulletin collating, mail sorting, mailings and other similar tasks. No previous experience is necessary and you will be trained to accomplish the task(s) at hand. The schedule is flexible, so that you can help out occasionally or regularly, for a short time or for a whole project. Your efforts and time are always welcome and appreciated!

If you are interested in this ministry opportunity, please contact Amy Shek or Gaelin Johnson at trinityoffice@trinityefc.com.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer is a vital part of our life at Trinity.

People submit prayer requests using the connection card Sunday mornings or via email to gaelinj@trinityefc.com. These requests are compiled into a Prayer Page that is emailed to the congregation on a weekly basis.

Trinity’s Prayer Chain is used when an urgent prayer request for someone in the church needs to be communicated to the church body. At that time, an e-mail message is sent to those members for whom we have email addresses.

“Trinity isn't just a church, it is a family. It is a place where you can feel accepted and loved even amidst heartache and brokenness. It is a place where you can worship God wholeheartedly and grow in your relationship with Him.”
